Allengreen Showcase

Allengreen Showcase

Owendale Sir Puffin (Welsh B) x Flighty Kate (TB)
148cm grey stallion, DOB 18/9/2003
Part Welsh, RPSB Section A, ASPR 1st Premium*

Showcase is the ideal sire to produce performance and show hunter ponies & galloways of the highest standard. He is a full brother to Allengreen N’Rapture, 2007 ACTDA Pony of the Year and consistent winner to elementary level (67 EFA points). In addition two of his full sisters (Harmony & N’Rapture) are both Royal Champions under saddle.

Showcase has an expansive walk, a naturally cadenced trot and a fantastic uphill canter making him an extremely talented and rewarding horse to ride. He has a fantastic trainable temperament on the ground and under saddle.

Showcase was classified 1st Premium* during the 2009 ASPR tour, scoring 77.92% overall, with the 2009 equal top conformation score of 81.5%. His individual scores included:

Walk 8.5   Frame, Topline 8.5
Trot 7   Overall Type 8.5
Canter 8   Jumping Scope 8.5
Correctness to Gaits 8   Jumping Technique 8
Neck 8.5   Bascule 8

Showcase’s first three dressage outings, which were in 2008, produced preliminary scores up to 73%, often scoring 8's for his paces. He followed this up with a great performance at his first major competition, the 2008 NSW Pony Dressage Championships, where he won the preliminary 1.3 with a score of 70.8% and had the highest aggregate score over the two preliminary tests.

Over the following 12 months Showcase was a consistent winner at Preliminary and Novice level with scores between 63% & 73%. His major wins include scoring over 70% at the 2009 Canberra Royal and at the 2009 ASPR NSW Pony Challenge, where he was also awarded Hi-point ASPR Stallion and Hi-point Premium ASPR pony.

Showcase won the Novice 2.4 at the 2009 ACTDA Canberra Classic with a score of 70.4%, and finished Reserve Champion Novice Pony. He commenced Elementary level competition in 2009 with many wins at this level, accumulating a total of 62 official points by mid 2009. He was awarded Reserve Champion Elementary Pony at the 2010 Canberra Classic, and was the equal ACTDA Pony of the Year for 2010. Showcase is now competing and winning at Medium level and is showing great natural talent for flying changes and half pass.

A-level judges have noted his “international quality” and leading trainer Uwe Spenlen comments that “he shows the quality and good paces of European bred dressage ponies”.

Showcase commenced his jumping training in 2009 with a young rider, showing the same great scope that he demonstrated at the ASPR classification. He placed in his first jumping competition at the 2009 ASPR NSW Pony Challenge, and completed his 3 events with just 1 rail down overall.

Showcase has had limited show outings for many champions and reserves both led and under saddle in excellent company, including winning Reserve Champion Ridden Part Welsh at the 2010 Canberra Royal (100+ entries).

He is without doubt one of the top pony dressage stallions in the country, and has quickly moved up the levels to Elementary/Medium despite minimal work in 2011 due to the birth of our son Lachlan in June 2011. His recent performances include winning Champion Medium & Elementary pony 2011 Canberra Classic, scoring up to 68% Medium and 70% Elementary despite only having 6 days under saddle and with a new rider prior to this competition. With Sue back in the saddle 10 weeks after Lachlans arrival, Showcase didn’t put a foot wrong and picked up where he left off earlier in the year despite 5 months in the paddock. He attended the NSW Pony Dressage Championships in October and performed well including placing 2nd in one of the Medium tests. The following weekend he was also awarded Champion Ridden Part Welsh Stallion at the 2011 NSW All Welsh Show.

His oldest progeny were born in 2007, and have been shown for Champions and Reserves under local and international judges as well as winning in the dressage arena. All his progeny have consistently inherited the quality and athleticism of their sire, as well as his wonderful temperament. His older progeny are all under saddle now and are showing extremely trainable temperaments plus superior movement for all disciplines. The younger progeny are ideal candidates for Young Pony Classes in the coming years.

After more than 12 months in the paddock due to our young family, FEI rider Bec Walshe took over Showcase's reins at the start of 2014 for a few months of training and competition. Showcase demonstrated his fantastic temperament and was back into work without missing a beat winning classes and championships at his first Ag Show at Bungendore less than 2 weeks out of the paddock. He followed this up competing at the Canberra Classic Dressage and was awarded Reserve Champion at both Elementary & Medium levels - after less than 2 months back in work. Later on in March he competed at Canberra Horse Trials for 2nd place - his first ever ODE, scoring over 80% in the dressage phase. He was then placed 3rd at Berrima Horse Trials a couple of weeks later. His final event before a break again was the Young Dressage Championships were he won one of the Medium tests and was Reserve Champion, only missing out on the Championship due to a course error. We are very appreciative of Bec's time working with Showcase - they made a fantastic partnership!
